Premium Bandai HG 1/144 RX-78-02 Gundam (Cucuruz Doan's Island Ver.)

The new shoulder joint and sculpted chest vents give this kit a completely different silhouette from the standard HG Gundam. Took me about three hours to build while watching the movie, and the panel lines on the shield really pop without any paint.

The chest vents and shoulder armor really pop under a light coat of matte spray, and the proportions feel bulkier than the standard release. Assembly was a breeze, though I took my time panel-lining the backpack thrusters. Honestly, this is the best version of the old RX-78-02 I've built in years.

I was surprised how much I enjoyed the slightly different shade of white plastic for the chest and legs compared to the standard Gundam kit. The head sculpt captures Doan's Island look accurately, even if a few seam lines need extra cleanup.
