Explore the CCS TOYS Mortal Minds Gunbuster 35th Anniversary metal figure: special-order details, lead time, and who it suits best.
Quick Answer
The CCS TOYS Mortal Minds Gunbuster 35th Anniversary Metal Figure is a special-order collectible that celebrates the classic series, but it requires patience due to a 6–8 week lead time. If you're a dedicated Gunbuster fan or a die-cast mecha collector, this metal figure is worth considering.
Why the 35th Anniversary Matters
The Gunbuster franchise has been a cornerstone of mecha anime since its debut, and this 35th anniversary figure honors that legacy with a metal build that stands out in any collection. The Mortal Minds Series from CCS TOYS focuses on high-quality interpretations of classic mecha, and this figure is a testament to that dedication.
Special-Order Considerations
Unlike standard retail items, this figure is a special-order product with a lead time of 6–8 weeks before shipment. This means you'll need to plan ahead if you have a specific display or gifting timeline in mind. The trade-off is that you're getting a commemorative piece that isn't readily available on shelves.
Metal Figure vs. Model Kit
While the product is listed as a model kit, it's described as a metal figure build, which suggests a pre-assembled or partially assembled collectible rather than a traditional snap-together kit. If you're expecting a complex building experience, you may be surprised—this is more about display and appreciation than construction.
Decision Rules for Buying the Gunbuster Figure
- Commemorative Value: If you're a long-time Gunbuster fan, the 35th anniversary metal figure is a meaningful addition to your collection. Check if you already own other anniversary editions to avoid duplicates.
- Lead Time Tolerance: Only order if you can wait 6–8 weeks for shipment; this is not a quick purchase. Consider ordering well ahead of any planned display or gift occasion.
- Build Preference: If you enjoy assembling model kits, note that this is a metal figure build, not a traditional model kit. Verify the assembly level before purchase if you prefer a specific building experience.
