Quick Answer
If you want the latest Spec II color scheme and Premium Bandai exclusivity, the RG Blast Impulse Gundam Spec II is your pick. If you prefer the classic Blast Impulse look with a Master Grade scale, the MG 1/100 Blast Impulse Gundam offers a different build experience.
What Makes the Spec II Different?
The RG Blast Impulse Gundam Spec II is a Premium Bandai exclusive release, which means it’s not a standard retail kit. It’s based on the Blast Impulse Gundam Spec II design from the Gundam SEED series, featuring a distinct color scheme and marking that set it apart from the regular RG Blast Impulse.
Because it’s a Real Grade kit, you get intricate parts and articulation that are typical of the line. The Spec II variant adds a layer of collectibility, but it also comes with a higher price point compared to standard releases.
RG vs MG: Which Scale Fits Your Build Style?
The RG Blast Impulse Gundam Spec II is a 1/144 scale kit, offering a compact, highly detailed build with a focus on articulation. In contrast, the MG 1/100 Blast Impulse Gundam is a larger kit with a more involved inner frame, appealing to builders who enjoy mechanical detail and a bigger presence.
Your choice depends on your display space and patience for part count. RG kits are quicker to complete but still demand careful handling, while MG kits offer a more substantial project.
Trade-Offs at a Glance
